17. u.n. owen (31, from Texas, USA):
"just a few words from the heart: here i am march 31,2004 9 yrs later. still this young vibrant woman moves the soul, she has played a very important role in the hispanics just as if she were still here. I remember that horrible day 9 yrs ago when she was taken away from us, i say us because she loved everyone, all age groups big and small. I hold her in my heart with every time they play her songs somehow someway they relate to me; chilles still run through me when i hear her voice through her many people express their self she has been an encouraging image in the eyes of my 6 yr old ,my prayers are always with her, everytime i think of her i believe the good lord needed her to guide us here on earth from above. always dreaming of you. rip"
18. Aphrodite Aguirre (29, from Texas, USA):

I will always listen to her songs till I meet with her in heaven. I remember Selena with a big smile on her face, an angel. She is still with us, everytime we play her music. SELENA EN MI CORAZON ESTAS PARA SIEMPRE, I MISS YOU. I LOVE YOU SELENA 4EVER. "
22. Iraida (from USA):
"Wow its actually
been 9 years since the last time we have all phsically seen
Selena, its so hard to believe that its been 9 years since we
have heard that laugh of hers that was so catchy, its like you
dont know what she's laughin at but you have to laugh with her!!
I feel that way now when i watch old interviews with her ect...
Although I'm not related to Selena and no way shape or form I
looked up to her like she was an older sister and even though
she isnt here right now, I still look up the her cuz she
continues to amaze people long after she is gone and that is
what is so amazin about selena!! She continues to touch peoples
live even 9 years after she left us!! Selena continues to break
barriers and I think she continues to do that cuz even though
she isnt here right now there was a time when she was with us
and that little time she was with us so remained humble and down
to earth and for an artist of that magnitude to stay so humble
is amazing, now when you look at hollywood you see 2 month
marriages and you see all these drama but not Selena, she loved
and promised to spend the rest her life with one man and she did
do that even though they were torn apart so soon even now when
you look at pictures of them you can see the love in there
eyes!! So those are some of the things that make selena so
amazing even though the list goes on and on its as if the earth
was bless with an angel for 23 years!!! and anyone who got to
meet this angel was blessed!!
We love you Selena and you will live on in our hearts!!
Love,
Iraida"
23. Tanya Bateman (24, from Florida, USA):
"Selena was a special and wonderful person. She put a smile on the face of countless fans and touched a lot of lives. Her death brought tears from the eyes of the fans she had put smiles on. Tears for our beloved Reina De Tejano. Viviras Selena, we miss and love you!"
24. Stephanie (25, from Ohio, USA):
"Selena was becoming big and popular long before I ever even knew who she was. When I was a sophomore in high school I knew of a few of her English songs..dreaming of you and I could fall inlove with you. Then I heard of her death and although I didn't know much about her I was saddened by it. I've since finished college and almost have my masters and the past several years I have really gotten into Selena's mjusic. She was such a good person and role model, her voice is beautiful and she was just an all around beautiful person. He4r music meansd so much to me because her message is so powerful and her voice is so strong. Her murder is a tragedy but she will remailn in the minds and hearts of everyone she has touched from knowing her personally and through her music."
25. Lauren (18, from PA, USA):
"Selena means alot to me, and even though I didn't become to know who she was until the movie came out, i feel in love with everything about her, right away. 29. Gesnie Jeune (22, from Florida, USA):
"I remember Selena a lot. Eveytime I listen to her music I feel like crying.I wish she was here."
30. Lucy (from USA):
"I wish Selena could still be here. If she was, she would everywhere constantly...in the magazines, on national tv, and possibly in the tabloids. There would be big stiff competition between Selena and J.Lo and their music. Everytime I see the Selena movie, I always cried at the end. Then that's when the anger and depression starts. I really wish that monster Yolanda Saldivar could be dead instead of Selena, and maybe all the heartache and sadness could be taken back. I could be saying how I really feel about Selena's death like a million times, but those are my true feelings and thoughts......I wish Selena could still be here in this world. :("
31. Maribel (23, Texan now in California, USA):
"La Reina de la Musica Tejana! Selena, a beautiful person inside and out. An angel sent from above to fill many Latinas with hope and determination. Selena is one reason why I am proud to be a Tejana, Mexican-American born and raised in the Lone Star State. Her voice and laughter still echo through the hearts of those who love and appreciate her music, from the start of her career to her last recordings. Forever in our hearts! We love you, Selena. Que viva la onda Tejana!"
32. Reggie (14, from Michigan, USA):
"Time goes by so fast, even though I was never aware of Selena until the movie I still consdier myself a fan. I still support her, her legacy, and her music. To this day I play my Selena CDs, I listen to The Last Concert whenever I think of Selena. From what I've read and the movie, Selena seems like a very wonderful person. Nine years has gone by (half my life) and Selena is still going strong. The movie still comes on and her music will never loose its style. I would love to hear more from Selena's family, AB, her father, Suzette and Chris. Updates, and maybe unrelased music or better yet a 10 year annivery. We can't forget Selena, I love her and her music and I known there are people who feel the way I do. RIP Sel, I still love you."
33. Gabriela Rodriguez (15, from Illinois, USA):
"The day was March31,1995,I was in first grade and six years old me and my parents were watching the news and all of a sudden they came out saying that Selena was shot on the back by Yolanda. After they had siad that she died I began to cry and I couldn't stop crying. I didnt even go to pick my re[ort card up from school because I couldn't stop crying. I was so sad that she died she was my idol and 9 years later she still I really love her music."
34. Minerva (22, from USA):
"I have been collecting as much as I can, movies of her life, posters, shirts, etc. Every year I feel like I love her talent more and more."
35. Nicole Olson (18, from Kansas, USA):
"This what Selena means to me before i ever heard of Slenea i looked at becoming a singer as a bad idea but then i looked and found out that even coming from a lower class family you can make it somewhere. Lets just say without Selena ever being around when she was i would not want to become a singer like she did i mean being the first mexican womwn to make it to the top of the spanish charts knowing that all spanish music is done by men. I can have a bad day and then i go upstairs to my room and pop in her cd and i am happy. people don't listen to me when i say she is my gardian angle well she is i never wake up from sleeping but one night i did and it was when my mom and her ex man got into it at first i was scared but she reached down and told me that everything was going to be alright. Then one time i was driving by myslef for the first time without my mom and an s appeared in the clouds and stayed ubtil we got home then faded away. So Selena means a lot in my life because! Without her i would not be here today."
36. Kimarie (20, from Arizona, USA):
"I bought my first Selena cd @ McDonald's. It was late 1994. I was 11. It was a Barrio Boyz/Selena cd. My nana loved Selena and I knew to get that cd. Well, a few months later, my mom calls and tells me to turn on Univision, b/c that Selena girl was on. It was March 1995, and the first time I saw Selena perform. A few days later, it was all over the news. Since then, I've been hooked. Anything Selena I collect. She is truly my idol. I taught myself to read and write in spanish by reading her lyrics. She means so much to me personally. I am now going on 21, and 9 years later, we are taking our trip to Corpus!! To finally visit her gravesite, memorials, musuem, boutique and especially salon, since I am now a hairdresser with TONI & GUY. I am very excited!!"
37. Shabiante' Grant (12, from GA, USA):
"When i first heard a Selena song i was about 3 i was so happy because i've never heard a song like that. i mean i t some powerful singing and i will nver forget her or her beautiful and amazing voice."

She made me proud to be Mexican and her music has helped me through good and bad. She will always live on in the hearts of her fans. There will never be another Selena, she is the only La Reina, Selena vive en nuestros corazones para simpre!"
39. Adri Arias (16, from California, USA):
"Ever since I was
five years old, I would always wonder who that woman on the TV
was. I would admire her dancing, her singing, her
ethnicity, and her passion to achieve and reach for more.
In times of loneliness and lack of self-esteem, I watched her
and wanted to dance exactly like her. When I turned six, I
knew more about Selena, so I began to want to dance like her.
I watched her moves and watched how she performed and tried hard
to remember every single detail about her. My mother saw
what I was trying to do, so she began to record everything that
came on TV about her. My sister and I played, rewinded her
movies--and at times put it in slow-mation--just to remember her
body motions, just taking every data into our brains. It
took weeks--practicing every chance we got. During the
weekends we would play the movies and danced along. We
would puch 'stop', 'rewind', and 'play' over and over again.
My sister caught on faster--she was 8 at the time. I was
envious. I !
wanted to be better than her, so I would wake up every weekend
at six o'clock and pop in the movie. I would get the
control, place it against my lips, and sing along to her songs.
I would close my eyes, lift my hands into the air, and clutch my
fingers together--just like she always did whenever she sang.
I would always want my hair to be long--just like hers. It
was the first and only time in my life that I admired and wanted
to be like a Mexican star. When I turned 7, my sister and I were
almost competing against each other. We would pop in a CD
of Selena's and dance to it until one would stop from the
exhaustion. My family would gather around yus and would
watch us perform. My Tia (aunt) Laura would take out her
camera and would take pictures. A friend of my dad's would
record the two of us. The family was amazed on how well
the both of us were so passionate about wanting to be like
Selena. They couldn't believe their eyes when they saw how
well we would inpersonate her--how well we would dance for
little 7 and 9 year olds. But when they watched me, they
knew it was me that had the most devotion whenever I would dance
or "sang" a song of Selena's. I got more into it
than my sister (not wanting to sound conceited).
Then...late March came and when I heard the news, I cried so
hard. I felt as if someone had ruptured a great treasure
from my life--my heart. A jewl that couldn't be replaced
or restored. I was only 7, but I understood of the loss.
Now...it's been nine years later and still I feel the same.
But, I will always remember that sweet huge smile or hers.
I will always admire her pride in her ethnic background and
wanting to show it to the world. I've grown to love her
more and more and I will continue to say that she is my favorite
singer because she was the perfect role-model for girls who had
low self-esteem--a person who was beautiful inside and out who
was devoted to her husband and was the great daughter--and I
will continue to shut up those who say otherwise. She was
my role-model and I will play her music until the day I pass
away, and make my children see the good she had inside her, and
the love she wanted to share to so many."
41. Teresa (34, from California, USA):
"Selena was such a GREAT role model for everyone!! I love the fact that she was family oriented and did not drink or party like most other musicians. She was different in a good way. Even though she is gone, I will always admire her."
42. u.n. owen (24, from Scotland, UK):
"The first time i
heard of selena was when i watched the film about her life,i had
no idea who she was or heard her music since i live in
scotland.I was very moved by the film and very sad about the way
she died,i started buying her albums which are amazing, she has a
voice of an angel whenever im having a bad day listening 2 her
music really helps and calms me down.

"I woke up this morning & clicked on the tv to find that they were giving the E!True hollyood story of Selena.... I remember when Selena's music first came into my life. I was about 9 yrs old when my best friends aunt sent us a cassette with music on it which were Selena songs and we loved it! Then we found out who she was and talked about going to see her in person one day... then we found out she wasn't even alive... til' this day I can't get over it & even though I didn't know her personally it still hurts me when I think of what could have been... I am so angry that she was taken from all of us for no reason at all.. sometimes it's still hard for me to believe that she's not here...I remember my first picture of here it was the size of a quarter that i cut out from a magazine & hung on my bedroom door i was soooo happy to have it. Selena was just.. Selena.. a person who was warm, loving, bubbly, talented, intelligent, creative, hard working ,giving, friendly. She was just such a GOOD person. She never deserved what happened to her all she deserved was happiness. When I started listening to her songs I had no clue what she was saying even though I am hispanic I didn't speak spanish but i knew the words. She made me embrace the fact that I can learn spanish just like she did and that if you work hard you can accomplish your goals in life which is something I truly believe thanks to her... I even went to my 8th grade prom trying to emmulate her look in the No Me Queda Mas video with the curl on my forehead & everything! 76. Sally (from Illinois, USA):
"I will admit, while Selena was alive I don't believe that I knew who she was. Although I remeber hearing Dreaming of You all the time on the radio. Then all of a sudden I never heard her songs again. One time on TV I learned that she had been killed. I saw the movie with Jennifer Lopez, and fell in love. Not with Jennifer but, the woman she was portraying. And her beautiful voice (selena's). When I was 14 or 15 i did my first dance solo at the county fair. I knew I wanted to do a ballet dance, but It was hard to pick a song. I eventually picked Dreaming of you. I loved it!!! Now even years later when other people hear that song there like "Oh sally, thats your song, thats your girl" I did that dance years ago...But since then i've bought many other Selena cd's and the Selena movie. I've learned about her music career and about her as just a strong woman. Even though I became a fan after she was killed, She is (even today) one of my favorite performers/singer/entertainers/PERSON ever! I look up to her. I love her and what she was about. Her legacy will live forever!!! Selena, we love you and we're still listening to your beautiful music."

"Selena means everything to me. I don't know where to start. I just can't understand why and what posessed Yolanda to do such a thing. I'm sure all of you feel the same way as me when I say she got what she deserved now. Just wait until she gets up there (if she does) and she has to confront Selena. I just feel bad for her (Selena) and Chris because of how much they loved each other but it ended too soon. One day in heaven they will see each other again and get remarried because of how much they loved each other. She was such a great role model, she taught me so many things. She lived life to it's fullest and I personally think that's how we should all live. I love Selena and for all of you fans just think one day will all finally get to meet this shining star. ~~~ Selena vive para siempre~~~"

95. Rose Marquez (from UK):
"Everyday is another dy that goes by and we have to live wihtout the smile and laughter of Selena, the most talented and beautiful person. March 31st 1995 was on of the most tragic days in music history, Selena was shot to death by her ex-fan club president Yolanda Saldivar. Selena was the best female singer ever she broke ground and broke barriers that were in the way for woman but not for her. I remember being really little about 7yrs of age or so and i came home from school one day and my parents told me what had happened. I couldn't beleive my ears and i thought it was a joke but when i saw the t.v the news were on saying that Selena had passed away. I was really sad and asked why? but since i was real little i didn't really understand. I just loved standing in front of the mirror and singing along with her and her music, I loved listening to her on my cassette player and singing all night until i fell asleep. My favorite song at that time was "Buenos Amigos" i would play it over and over again. The years were passing by and as i was getting older and learning more about Selena the more i got interested and involved with her she was such an icredible person that i just wish that i could have met her or atleast seen her in concert. I couldn't really afford to go to any but if i would've gotten a chance i would have gone to all her concerts and asked her for a autograph. Now I go to every website and see how many other people miss Selena as much as i do and remember her with such great respect and honor. Selena will always be in the hearts of those who knew her through her music and her personality. I always listen to her music and i sit and think to myself if Selena were still here she would be the most famous and successful singer ever. Who knows maybe Jennifer Lopez wouldn't be where she is today if it wasn't for Selena. She opened the door of opportunity to alot of woman and she still is number one. Selena will always be here and i will always remember her and think about her and how her life would be now, i know that even though she's not here physicaly her soul and heart is with us. I always remember her as a sweet innocent person that all she wanted was to make her fans happy and reach her goals with her family. We all love Selena and i hope to go to the concert that Los Dinos are gong to have in March 31st 2005 in tribute to her and i hope to see all the fans that have kept Selena in their hearts."
96. Mary (from San Antonio, Texas, USA):
"It is good to see an up to date web site that is still honoring Selena. I have been a fan of hers since before she died. Many people were fans and still are, but many do not have the passion for her as before. I still listen to her music constantly, collect her items, and am always looking for websites and pictures about her. I see that thru your website, you have the same passion for her. I have to commend you for doing so, because she was very special and was someone who is hard to forget, in fact, she will never be forgotten to her true fans. I believe as did she and her family that she will live again thru the ressurection, so this is not the last of Selena... she will return... take care."

I would do anything to bring her back so that all of her fans and chris could see her again. I know that chris has moved on but i belive deep down that he still loves her very much. I know she gone but I promised her that when i get older i would name my daugther after her, and i would tell her what a great person she is named after. I love selena very much and i can't wait for the day i can be with her. R.I.P Selena 1971 - 1995."

She was such a great person, and I wish I could have met her in person or seen her live. We are lucky, though, that we can still listen to her music and see what she was like through pictures and videos. No one will ever compare to Selena, and no one will ever try. 148. U.N. Owen (from USA):
"How I remember is listening to her music and watching her concerts. I loved her "Live" album. The "Como La Flor/Baila Esta Cumbia" is a favorite along with her classics from the 80s."
148. Debbie Rubio (17, from California, USA):
"Hi my name is TANYA I'm writing for my sister Debbie who has Down Syndrome. Debbie has loved Selena since she can remember. What's wonderful is that with Debbie having Downs, some things are hard to understand, and with that she really doesn't understand about life or death for Debbie, Selena is alive and well and still making great music. Lately she has been saying that Selena's last name is Los Dinos. That's really how we can and are keeping Selena alive.
149. Miroslav (36, from Croatia):
"Selena, you live forever, your fan, Beky."
