1. Janet (21, from P.A. USA), owner of On An Angel's Wings, says "I remember Selena through my webdesign."

2. Candace, founder of  selena la angelita, 8 Years Ago, and Angel was taken away from us, mortally but not spiritually. Her music, beauty, and the person she was is immortal. Selena was like no other, her, Celine Dion, and Aaliyah are like no other. They are the type of people that shows you that there are good people in the world. And I know during these times it's hard to see more good people than bad especially since the 2 goods were had to go to Heaven, but they brought that out and showed us the truth. 8 years today Selena in two weeks would've been 32 her and Chris would've been married for 10 years and I'm sure they would've had at least 4 kids by now. But unfortunately that dream was cut short, because the devil insisted on taking an Angel away from us, and not letting everyone see how much love she could give to the world. Even though the devil did something terrible and it was such a tragic way for an Angel to leave this world, God is watching her sing and dance for Him. At these hard times we do need our two Angel Selena and Aaliyah but we can only remember them for who they were and the beautiful music and voice they had. Selena was one of the people which I loved about her. She didn't live fancy and insisted on being normal. You don't see that in entertainers anymore. If I were ever a singer I would live the way Selena did, simple. Even Aaliyah lived in an apartment with her brother, people didn't even know she lived in their same apartment building! Selena was the best singer I’ve ever known. She sang like no other, her voice had so much passion with ballads, her voice was so spicy in songs like “Si Una Vez” and “Techno Cumbia” she had a little soul in “Missing My Baby” and seductive in “Captive Heart.” Her smile was full of joy and happiness something that was born with Selena. I admire Selena’s tight-knit family. They prove that a family that works together stays together. I mean I think Selena would’ve been a different person if she didn’t have her family with her and if they weren’t tight knit. She had morals, family values, high standards, and religion, and she was proud to show that off and be “la reina del pueblo” and Mexican. We all missed the brown-eyed morena (woman).

3. from Katie,

Selena, I Miss You

It's been 8 years since you were senselessly taken from us. Like an angel, only here for 23 years to spread your happiness, sensational talent, and love. I listened to "Dreaming Of You" at 1:05 on the anniversary of your death, and I thought about what could have been. I so wish that I could have met you, but it feels like I already know you through your music. I know that even if you were here, you would forgive Yolanda for what she did, and would want us to also. Even though it's hard, I will. I miss you so much but I know I'll see you in heaven. May your memory live on forever, and you are forever "La Tejano Reina"

Selena Quintanilla Perez

Lil Myz Loka) (from the USA), owner of her personal aol page (contains a mild adult theme in cartoon fashion), says "Selena is such an amazing inspiration to the female Hispanic community. It is such a tragedy of what had happened to her. I relate to her on so many leaves. Her music is heavenly, she was an exact replica of my mother may she rest in peace (04-02-89) and she helps me link with my Hispanic heritage being that my other half is Irish. Well I also think it is a shame that no one mentioned her in the media this year. Not even Univision or Galavision on TV. But that's ok she is still thought of by all the fan's Love to all.. God bless America and our troops."

17. Noelia (21, from Texas, USA), owner of CoffeeQueen's Tribute To Selena, says "Selena's dream had come true.  She went from a young child who performed at birthday parties  and her father's restaurant to one who sold-out concerts in the Houston Astrodome, proving that American dream could and would come true.  And she did it without losing sight of herself and her culture; on the contrary, she gained so much of what it means to be a Mexican-American.  The world lost a wonderful role model who believed in school, in personal freedom, and above all, in never letting go of your dreams.  We will always listen to your voice, Selena, and remember that nothing is impossible."

18. Fernanda (17, from Buenos Aires, Argentina), says "I live in Argentina and in this country Selena's music is not so popular. Obviously they didn't know how to answer my question, but I only could know her name. After a time, I forgot her till I saw Selena's movie and I remember the time I was in the car listening Disco Medley. Now I tell my story and nobody wants to believe me, but it's true!!!!! I liked Selena since I was a very little girl. And now I had a few CD's but I always enjoy her music. She is the best and she will always be LA REINA."

The movie fascinated me, SHE fascinated me...she was everything I ever wanted to be, I could really identify with her. Our personality traits were very much alike, so it was almost like hearing that an old friend had died, a couple of years too late. Her music is a constant comfort for me as over the years my life has changed a lot, including friends and family, through it all her voice has been there. I think, in a way, she's like a security blanket I'll never give up. her music always reminds me of happier times. At the time I never really thought much about it as I wasn't a fan of Latin music and didn't know a word of Spanish. Then, on Tuesday, April 4, 1995, I was getting ready for school as I was only 15 at the time, and I saw a small article about her murder in the newspaper. I thought it was sad and since then i'd wanted to know anything and everything possible about Selena. I started to learn Spanish, and, since nobody in my family knew it, I had to learn on my own. In a way, Selena became my teacher. I also begged my mom to buy me Dreaming Of You for my 16th birthday that November but wound up getting it for Christmas instead. At one point, I had all her EMI Latin albums except her first one. Now, I have 17 Super Exitos, Entre A Mi Mundo, Amor Prohibido, Dreaming of You, All My Hits Vol. 2, the 95 Astrodome concert on cd and Selena Ones. I have to say that even though I never really cared after seeing her on the Grammys in 94, when she was killed, in a way, that got to me and the more I found out about her, the more she touched me with her down-to-earth and outgoing personality. Well, the happiness I felt soon ended when my mother came into the living room where I was and said to me, "Callie, Selena's dead." My heart sunk! I sat there for a second trying to take in what my mother had just told me. Then I looked at the envelope with the letter still inside and I ripped it up and threw it in the trash! I was so heartbroken that I ran upstairs and layed on my bed and cried. I had been crying for five or six years until one night I received a message in the form of a dream from Selena herself. Who would have thought that Selena, the most loving and caring woman, would be taken away from us? To this day, I will never ever forget that. It's hard to except any apology from Yolanda. I don't. Selena was only 23 and had the rest of her life to look forward to. Like having kids, buying a big house, making more music, but it all was taken away so tragically. I wish I could tell Selena how much she means to me, and express my self to he face-to-face. When I get to Heaven I will see her smiling at me. I love you Selena Quintanilla Perez, always have and always will. I hold up my Selena doll and think about you everyday. May you rest in peace after 8 long years of you not being here. With tomorrow 3-31-04 being her 9 year anniversary I feel that we should still remember her. The day that she died was the day that I came home from the hospital after having a brain tumor removed. It was a day of happiness for me to come home but also of sadness for me because the singer who I just began to know of was fataly shot and killed. Later that year I did a report in my school newspaper about her. So with the anniversary of my homecoming from the hospital aproaches I am happy to be tumor free but also sad because the same aniverssary is shared by her family of her death. My husband and I will be married 4 years this year. And I can't imagine what I would do without him. My heart goes out to Chris and the rest of the family.Thank you I am a true Selena fan."
