Even though I was not priviledged to ever meet you or see you perform, your music, everything I've read about your loving heart, gracious personality and genuine kindness and care for your fans has touched my heart more than words can say. I will never, ever forget you. Rest in peace sweet angel."

6. Chanel (16, Texas, USA):

"Today marks the 11th year although I was only 8 years old I was always in to other music besides rap and I loved the way she sung her songs and the way she presented herself in her videos. I will always remember her for the way she had the way to touch me at such a young age."

7. Amanda (New Jersey, USA):

"Selena has been an inspiration to me. I'm a singer and on her tenth anniversarry at my highschool I sung Bidi Bidi Bom Bom in the talent show. Everyone even "los Americanos" starting singing Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and dancing with me. It was amazing and I know that Selena must have been proud. Her music is everywhere and I will never forget her. She was a beautiful person with so much energy and happiness. TE QUEREMOS SELENA! SIEMPRE ESTARAS EN MI CORAZON NO IMPORTA SI PASAN 50 ANOS!"

8. Loli (15, owner of Tejana Beauty, Michigan, USA):

"Selena means a lot to the Latino community. Especially to me. She has taught me so much. Always to be stong minded and think the impossible is possible, To always stick up for what you believe in no matter what. She will always be a part of me and who I am each day! I love you, Sel!! I miss you sooo much!!"

9. Nicole (25, New York, USA):

"I remember her by her beautiful music and her smile and her voice and Selena will never die in my heart and in my room through her photos. I love you Selena."

10. Cecilia (26, Canada):

"Selena - I can't believe it's been 11 years without you, yet the pain feels as if it were yesterday.  The first time I saw Selena, was when she was singing "La Carcacha", immediately I adored her flirty, playful way of singing, she was beautiful, fashionable, funny, happy, curvy, she was a true Latina!!!! I received the news of her death on my 15th B-day, April 1-1995, the news was surreal, I spent my entire birthday watching her concerts, videos and listening to her music.  Today, 11 years after her death, I still listen to Selena, I always wonder how big she would've been now, there wouldn't be no Jennifer Lopez, 'cause everything JLO has would've been Selena's.  She would have been right up there with Shakira, Daddy Yankee, Ricky Martin and more, representing all us Latinos with great pride.  As long as I live, I will always remember you Selena, I will not mourn your death on Mar 31 - but instead celebrate your life through your music, and on April 16 - I will do the same - always celebrate your life!!!  For although your physically gone, I know one day all your fans will see you again, and no matter how long the time may be - we'll always remember and be true to you.  We Love you Selena!!!!!!!!!!!"

11. Stacy Clark (26, North Carolina, USA):

"It's hard to believe that Selena left this world 11 years ago. I watched The Selena Vive concert again yesterday 3/31 and I enjoyed it the second time around. She will always be the reigning Queen of Tejano music. May everyone continue to keep her music, her memory and her legacy alive. I know I most certainly will. Selena, como te extranamos y nunca te olvidaremos. Tu estrella brillara eternamente. Decanse en paz, y hasta pronto :)"

12. Sharlene Bautista (18, Texas, USA):

"I honestly can say that I remember "Selena" through her music. When I listen to Selena's music, I feel that she is not gone at all. To me she is very much alive. There's a Dreaming Of You poster that I have on my wall in my room... it says "Memories live through the gift of music". To me Selena's music is a gift to us. I believe that she accomplished all that she could for us before her passing. What is left behind is for us to treasure and to keep her alive through her music. I believe that Selena's destiny was to inspire others through her smile, her style of dressing, her music, etc. To me selena truly was the best role model anyone could ever have and to me she will always be remember through my heart and soul...I love you always and forever Selena!"

13. Destiny (18, her MySpace, California, USA):

"Selena means not only beauty and personality but broken barriers as well. She was the first lady of many things such as being a successful tejano singer and crssing over into English and also being successful even today. You don't even have to know spanish to love her music, I should know because im a african-american but her music to me is love, freedom and beauty."

14. Mariela (26, Aruba):

"My personal story about Selena is: When I was a lil kid we had no cable tv's so I only had 3 channels, a mexican and 2 venezuelan stations beside our local station, at the mexican is were I saw Selena for the first time, during the years that passed I learned to like her then love her, at the time of her death (she's still alive in my heart) when they announced it on the news, it was like a icy cold shower, I just couldn't believe it. I cried till I fell asleep, the years after I was dancing and singing her songs everytime when I'm alone cause I'm shy to let anybody hear me sing. Now I'm married and I have a daughter(9) who also love Selena, she takes my cd's and dvd's everytime to play for her and her lil brother(6). When I put the Selena Story DVD, I have to stop it before the last part when "I don't have a name for her" shot Selena, they cry at that part. Selena means so much to me and my family, I have 15 CD's and 3 DVD's of her and still looking for the ones I dont have. Wish I can afford a roundtrip to Corpus Christi TEXAS, I really wish that with all my heart. I only have 2 dream vacation spot, TEXAS and JAMAICA, I have my reasons. We don't have a store here where I can buy Selena stuff, not even CD stores where I can find the CDs I missed. I don't know how but I desperately want to get them all. I'm kind of a collector, I search for every Selena site just to have her pictures to show my daughter. She can dance like Selena. I don't know why that "stupid" woman killed her :( besides all that, on the 31st of March this year, I went to a local radio station and ask the director for one hour of his time, I asked him 2 please give me 1 hour on air. He granted me the time I wanted, I talked about Selena's biography and I went there with all my CDs, I played the hits with the help of the DJ there, I'm very thankful to the radio station and the DJ who granted me one hour of their time on air, people liked it, I'm no DJ, I'm just a normal full-time mom who loves Selena. That day I received a lot of SMS messages on my cellphone as a form of apreciation from the people who listened to the radio at that time. Wow, that was awesome. I felt like a relief feeling that I did something for Selena on my lil island, people who didn't know anything about her, now know her! Well my hands are tired of typing LOL, SELENA WILL ALWAYS BE HERE IN MY HEART (In my family's heart too)."

15. Candice (USA):

"Wow. Time really does pass by fast. When I first heard of Selena, it was the day that she was killed. Even though I'm from Louisiana, I never heard of her before then and I didn't even know Tejano music existed. I was 10 at the time. I remember saying how sad it was that she was murdered even though I didn't know her. I am a very caring person and to hear news like that hit very hard. I am a hardcore fan of hers now. I have her albums and I've seen "Selena" numerous times. What I regret is not knowing who she was before she was killed. It's ironic how she dreamed of crossing over into the mainstream and she achieves that dream by being killed. I really wish I could've had the chance to meet her because she was such a beautiful person on the outside as well as in. I use to think-at 10- that the world was filled with beautiful people and beautiful things. I, like Selena, was very trusting but her murder thought me that sometimes everyone isn't who they seem to be and that I should be careful. Selena has also inspired me to learn Spanish. People call me crazy because I'm a black chick who wants to learn Spanish but I just ignore them. I know she's in a better place and God took her away from us because she was just too good of a person. I remember crying to my mom about it. Selena, we love you, you will NEVER be forgotten, and rest in peace. - Candy Girl"

16. Maria (29, Texas, USA):

20. Ana (15, her MySpace, USA):

"I just what to let ya know that I love Sselena. Selena died when I was 5yrs and ya'll might think I'm lying but I swear I started to sing and dance like Selena. When I was 3 my mom used to dress me up like her and I would dance and sing all her music and even now that I'm 15yrs old, I still what to be like "SELENA" (I have the video when I was 3, I also record myself singing her music, and I record everything that comes out on TV). After my sweet 15, my parents took me to the Selena Museum, stores, her grave yard, and her memorial next to the beach. I even had the chance to meet Suzette, and know the only deam I have to accomplish is to be like Selena!"

"There will be no one like Selena she just always so happpy with her beautiful smile. I can't really remember the day she died i was young at the time. But my mother and father was just so shocked when it happened. I remember her by her music. It was a big bummer that I didn't get the chance to meet her or she perform live. I didn't really like tejano until I saw Selena. She is the Queen of Tejano/Tex-Mex. We love and miss you Selena!"

Then my cousin was watching the news, she said 'Quick! Come here!' I asked her what was wrong, since she was crying. She said Selena was shot and killed. I started to cry. I chould not belive she was gone. Then I flew down to Texas for the funeral. I could never imagine someone hurting such a sweet, caring and giving person. Now I go to Texas twice every year and buy anything that I can get on her."

31. Natasha Coleman (16, South Carolina, USA):

"I remember her as a person who likes to smile a lot. She was sweet."

"Hi my name is Elizabeth. Selena was my inspritation to me because her music inspired me she was very talented she had good singing voice. She made a lot of albums. On march 31,1995 she was gunned down by her fan, later that year "Dreaming of You" sold nearly three million copies. I started to buy her cds, books, pictures. She was my idol she was very popular in the latin music business. I love her music I dance like her, sing like her, and I dress like her. She had millions of fans from Texas and in Mexico and all around the world."

38.Arianna (13, USA):

"11 years have passed since the tragic death of my reina, SELENA! she was such a beautiful person inside out. SELENA was never a rude or harsh person. I know that SELENA would have forgiven Yolanda for what she had done to her but I know SELENA would have fired her but wouldn't say it in a very rude way. She would have been a huge star in the english speaking market. It is very sad that she couldn't finish her album "Dreaming Of You". Since she didn't finish it this album is still very beautiful. Whenever I feel upset I always but on one of SELENA's songs because they always touch my heart and she knows what her songs mean to me and she always uses very beautiful words in all of her songs. When I hear her music to me it feels like she is right there singing her songs to me. When I miss her very much (which I do everyday) I cry and cry my eyes out because I really miss her a lot! Now she is in a better place where she can rest in peace and be right next to the Lord's side."

41. Tiffany (13, Missouri, USA):

"Well I found out about Selena when I saw the movie and I cry everytime I watch it. I can't hold back the tears and it hurts to accept that she is gone. Even though I was only 3 when she left I feel like I've known her my whole life. I wonder everyday why bad things happen to the most kindest people. She was always an angel and still is, on land and in heaven. She was sent to us to perform a duty. She was taken back becausse her duty was fulfilled."

42. Kayla (11, Ohio, USA):

"I was 1 week old when selena was killed. I didn't even know who she was till I was about 3 or 4. That was when I watched the movie for the first time. I would watch it over and over knowing what would happen at the end, but I would still cry every time. Then I started looking her up on the internet. I think that she is and the only greatest person in life. She should be preforming now and living happily. Not in heaven watching over us. She should be alive."

43. Meghan (19, USA):

"Selena will always have a special place in my heart. I feel that Selena's music has healing powers. She has helped me through some rough times. Every time something bad happens I can turn to her music for comfort."

44. Woosly Valcin (15, Florida, USA):

"Selena, we will always miss you. You are my singing idol and I love you ever so much. If you were still here in person I would love to meet you."

45. Elizabeth Nunez (15, California, USA):

"How I remember Selena is by listening to her music and watching her concert videos on the internet. I have some pictures of her on the wall and one poster of her. She had the gorgeous smile on her face and she is the sweetiest person to her family, friends or fans. Back then like 1997 or 1998, I saw the movie Selena. It took me back through her singing career when she was very young and even as an adult. It usually makes me dissatisfied to see the real news when she died back then in March 31,1995. It's been 11 years of her death and I'll always remember her anniversary of her death if it appears on tv or on the radio. Selena the Queen Of Tex-Mex be remembered through her beloved fans."

"I have never met her but I know that she was beautiful from her pictures and commercials. She had long hair, a smile that lights up the world when she smiles or sings and she dressed very very nice. She was also very very kind.Yolanda Saldivar took away our princess, no our queen, no our angel. She sang like one too."

49. Selena Jordan (10, USA):

"Selena was my idol Selena was my very first artist I heard."

50. Whitney (USA):

"My Tejano angel was taking away from me so sadly by [YS]. I miss her so much. I do not speak spanish, I just found out about her on her 34th birthday, I sent a balloon up to her, I am sure she got it. I have the Selena movie and if she was still here she would have been so famous. No one even got to say good-bye!"

51. Silvia (24, Quebec, Canada):

"WOW, already 11 years have passed... I put most of Selena's songs on my iPod and listen to them everyday and feel the energy she transmitted through her songs, she was truly an electrifying person! We love you and miss you Selena!!!"

52. Steve (16, Pennsylvania, USA):

"Selena is one of only 2 women in my whole life time that I have called "BEAUTIFUL" (the other women was my mom). She was the most BEAUTIFUL women I have ever seen. I was too young to remember Selena when she was alive and performing but now that I'm older I've found out and remember soooo much about her. In school we had to pick a hispanic person who changed our lives. I picked Selena for my person. She did change my life. I only listen to rap and r&b, but I love Selena. That just shows how much she can really touch somebody who doesn't even listen to her type of music. I love her voice and everything about her. She was the best female vocalist I've ever heard and she is the ONLY singer in HISTORY that I've heard who sounds as good if not BETTER when she is performing live. Nobody sounds good live, but Selena does. Chris Perez was the luckiest man on the WHOLE planet to have been married to a beauty like her. I know when she passed she went right to heaven. When I pass, i hope to be able to finally meet her. That is how much she has touched my life."

53. Ella (19, New Jersey, USA):

"Selena was a beautiful sweet soul, an inspiration to all."

54. Andrew (7, USA):

"Selena, I miss you and I'll never forget you."

55. Vincent (26, Philippines):

"My first recollection of Selena was when Dreaming of You started airing on the local radios here early 1996. DJs would wrap the music with lines like "... from the late Selena," or "... from the late Tejano Superstar Selena." The first time I heard of her music, it instantly ripped my heart out. I didn't know who that slain singer was, after all. But I knew for sure that I loved her voice and I loved her music. A more certain thing though; I felt a terrible loss and sadness, added to the romance lullaby that was Dreaming of You from Selena. A year later when I saw the movie Selena, I came to learn more about Selena’s life story. Indeed it was the best film-bio I’ve ever seen. But as time went on, every time I listen to Selena’s music, Jennifer  Lopez would pop out of my mind, as though in the movie. Such a shame on myself that I can’t place La Reina on my mind doing her Cumbia foot-tricks and all that. J.Lo as Selena stuck on my mind for quite a long time. Good thing the WWW came to my aide. I sought every Selena material on the web, from photos to any available video clips of Selena just to help me animate the real Selena on my mind (in fact, right now, as I write this article, I’m listening to her Cumbia Medley and I still have a bit of J.Lo image for Selena). Thank goodness though, I now have a clip of Selena’s last concert (the words still hurt – ugh!), the Disco Medley. Little thing but of a big help for me just to radiate the lively Selena, in her purple and glittering tights, on my ambiguous mind! I’m hopeful that I can eventually make a clearer picture of Selena, not J.Lo, in the times to come.  A hand from anyone out there who knew Selena up close would be tremendous."

56. Kellymarie Perez-Cruz (18, Wisconsin, USA):

"I was only 7 when Selena died so I didn't know too much about her except that I had heard her songs on the spanish sataion when my papa made tortillas. Now she has become my role model because she showed me that it's more than okay to dream and that with a little hard work and determination you can make those dreams come true. No matter what the setbacks or hardships. Selena was so much more than a great singer. She was also an inspiration and a great role model."

57. Zenobia (15, New York, USA):

"Wow, I really can't believe Selena has been gone that long. She is still such a large inspiration to me. I became such a big fan of hers after her death, sadly. It would have been such a great experience if I could have seen her in concert. She inspired me to start singing. After I saw her bio pic, which featured Jennifer Lopez, I wanted to sing in spanish, even though I wasn't spanish, but after watching the movie, I began to search up the real Selena, and I fell so much in love with her talent and unbelievable beauty. Everysince then, my goal to become a great singer, and performer is still a dream to be achieved. I hope her family and loved ones know she didn't just make a large impression on them, but others as well. I thank God for creating such a lovely person and it really saddens me she's no longer here, but I'm completely sure she continues to live in her loved ones hearts and in her fans hearts.

Selena means so much to me... I can't really explain it.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Quintanilla Pérez.
Sincerely, an everylasting fan."

58. Isela (24, USA):

"I love Selena so much I went to meer her mom and sister in 1998. They came down to show the Selena clothing line. It was the best thing that happened. I will never forget that. I know they are nice and now I can say that I miss you mi reina...."

59. Keia (26, Oklahoma, USA):

"One thing in life I would have loved to do was meet Selena. I feel so sad every time I think that theres no chance I'll ever meet her. Selena means so much to me as a fan. I can't imagine what things or what music would be like if she were here. I still don't think to this day that there has been another singer to bring the heat to the stage that she brought. Even before I could understand Spanish and had no clue what she was singing about I just loved the beats. The music not only made me wanna dance all threw my house, but learn to speak Spanish. Which I think is very important in the world we live in today. She will always be missed, but never forgotten. - K.S."

60. Lupita Gongora (11, California, USA):

"Even though I never met Selena, she means a lot to me. She died the same year I was born (1995). I always wanted to meet her but was too little. What Selena La Reina means to me is that she a great role model. Without her I would have never had the guts to perform in the school play but I still sang. I didn't win but in my heart Selena always made me feel like a winner. Te amoe Selena y que viva la reina!"

61. Kiyah (16, Queensland, Australia):

"I feel that Selena is still here with me and I know Suzette, Selena's sister, she's like a mother to me. I wish Selena was still here. We have a bond that no one could ever break."

62. BobbiJo Sheaffer (17, Pennsylvania, USA):

What she meant to me when I was 11 she means the same to me now and it will never change. Atleast we were blessed to have her as long as we did and I'm glad I was born the time she was here. I wish I could of have met her. 11 years went by and it still feels like yesterday and all we got is memories to take with us. I just wanted to say she is a big impact on me and my idol forever and I plan to share her story with my kids one day of somebody that is a angel. Just wanted to say I love you Selena from now and forever thanks for changing my life...  and I will never forget you..."

Una mujer completa, que hacía bien todo lo que se proponía y, por supuesto, significa para mi, mi eterna cantante favorita."

Expecially Bidi Bidi Bom Bom. I like to look at his face, he is always smiling. Selena to me is an important role model, she was fun, loving and kind. I will never forget the memories I have of her. And I know my son is going to be a fan of her."

"I'm watching Selena, the movie as I type this message and I can't help but to praise Selena for her accomplishments and for her loving and supportive family. I too am a singer/songwriter and while her story saddens my heart I can't help but to be consoled by the love she received, the fame she earned and how she was living her dreams with her family. I've seen the movie about 9 times and everytime I see I gain a new found respect for Selena, music and life. Thank you for being a beautiful inspiration Selena, RIP."

88. Keia (22, Oklahoma, USA):

"There is almost never a time I don't listen to Selena's music, And each time I do I can't help but to wonder where and what she would have done by now. I play her music so much my kids are fans of hers too, And they're all under the age of 10, They ask me to play her music all the time. They also wanna watch the "Selena" movie all the time. If kids this young love her, who dosen't? I think she would have done that thing that no one has quite been able to do yet. Which is make people come out of their safe zone, And explore other people, cultures, music, and lands. That's what I am all about teaching and showing people together We as a people can do anything, We all bring something to the table. We can learn so much from each other. I think that was one of her goals as a performer. I believe that she was part of that revelution, Part of that change that we so badly need. It will happen one day, But now without people like Selena it will take long. But when it does happen her memory along with many others will be remebered charished and sharerd. Selena We Still Miss You!"

89. Silvia (26, Italy):

"For me, she is the biggest singer ever. Aa beautiful texan flower!"

90. Daylon Domino (14, USA):

"I loved Selena she died when I was just 4 years old and when I saw her movie in 1999, I fell in love with her music. Her legacy lives on within me. My favorite Selena songs are: Si una Vez, Dreaming of You, and I'm Getting Used To You. She was amazing and will never be forgotten."

91. Ana A. (19, USA):

"Can't believe that it's been so long. Honestly, I never was a HUGE fan of Selena when she was alive because I didnt know who she was. I remember seeing her in that novela "Dos Mujeres, Un Ccamino" or something like that and on Christina, but I never paid much attention. I was about 7 years old when I learned about her. Like when the movie came out ... I just fell in love with her. Like her personality, her attitude, her beauty, just about everything. She just seemed so amazing. I remember going to her movie like 5 times with different people.  I remember looking her up .. saving pictures. Funniest thing was me trying to be her. My mom wouldn't take me to cut my bangs because she thought I was crazy, so i took a pair of scissors and did it myself. I remember hiding the hair underneath the bed in which I slept in. I cut my hair so unevenly. It was so funny, but everything about Selena was just amazing and til this day she'll always be in my heart and I'll forever have much respect for her. =)"

92. Chelsea (14, USA):

"Selena was such a great person she seemed so happy and sweet. I would of loved to meet her. She had such a beautiful voice and she was very pretty. She didn't let anything get in her way of singing but always put family first. I've been doing a lot of research on Selena for a school research paper and I found stuff out I didn't know but what I think is Selena didn't deserve what happend to her."

93. Starla (17, USA):

"I remember when I was 9 and first saw the movie. That is when I realized how great of a person Selena was. I fell in love with her music and wanted to be just like her. And now I can sing ALL of her songs and I love them. Selena was a wonderfull person and her spirit will ALLWAYS live on. :)"
